COVID – 19: Update

To all members of 1st Coseley Scouts, we are happy to announce that we are reopening for all sections on Monday 17th May 2021. We have been given the go ahead by the Scouting Association to reopen with limited group sizes and all COVID rules in place, including Social Distancing and Mask wearing for Scouts and Explorers. Please see below for any major changes for the near future:

EXPLORERS MOVED TO WEDNESDAY NIGHT: Due to cross contamination with Beavers, our explorers group will coincide with our Scout Group and follow the same group plan. This is due to low numbers in both groups which make it accessible and within the maximum scout limit.

SOCIAL DISTANCING AND BUBBLES: All games and activities have been planned with Social Distancing in mind. Any young person breaking social distancing will be spoken to, and if this continues, parents will be spoken to.

SCOUT AND EXPLORER MASK WEARING: For our Scouts and Explorer groups, masks will be mandatory unless exempt with visible proof at all times (A Badge or Lanyard).

COVID-19 SYMPTOMS AND REPORTING: Anyone with COVID-19 symptoms, or who has been in contact with anyone who has COVID-19 symptoms (within the last two weeks), shouldn’t come to any face-to-face activities, and should follow government guidelines on self-isolation and testing.

Hand sanitisation, hygiene and personal protective equipment: We will provide Hand sanitiser for arrival, during the evening and departure. All adults will be wearing masks unless exempt or directing the younger members in an activity.

Arrival and departure arrangements: We have a one-way system with clear markings for dropping off and pick up. Parents are advised to Arrive and leave straight away. Parents will not be allowed in the HQ.  Entrance will be through the original door and the register will be done at this time.  Children will be required to leave through the front door.  We will allow one child at a time out, and we will ensure that especially with Beavers and Cubs that we can see the parent before allowing them to leave.

Other measures in place: We will be outside as much as possible, weather permitting, so please make sure your young person is wearing suitable clothing for the weather.  Should it be raining, the meeting will take place indoors whilst maintaining the social distancing measures and following the one-way procedure. We will not be able to provide drinks etc at the moment, so if they would like to bring a drink with their name one that is great.

We can’t wait to see you on Monday 17th May!
