Explorers – Description

Our Explorers section is for our oldest young adults, ranging from 14 – 18 Years old.

In Explorers, we provide opportunities for our youth, as we prepare them for the adult world that lays ahead. We teach our Explorers all important life skills that may come in use. We also understand that they will be at the age where they will be or have begun their next chapter in life after school. We promise to prepare them as much as we can. We can provide CV writing practise, interview training and explaining all the boring adult stuff, but in a 1st Coseley Scouts twist. We also provide many other activities and badge work that our explorers can find entertaining and skilful, such as:

  • Axe chopping / Knife Whittling
  • Open fire cooking
  • Badge projects
  • Hikes / DofE*
  • Arts and Crafts
  • Sports
  • Games

Away from the scout hut, we also create many memories and learn many skills. Exclusively available for Scouts and Explorers Sections, we at 1st Coseley Scouts are proud to say we had held an annual week’s summer camp up and down lovely locations in the UK for 25 years in a row, and with many other undiscovered locations and dream spots, you want to make sure you get yourself a spot at the next camp, as there are memories to make and cherish for the rest of your life.

Our Explorer Group usually meet weekly on Mondays, starting at 7:45pm, finishing at 9:15pm. However, due to the COVID pandemic, we have moved this section to Wednesday 7pm-9pm alongside Scouts for the near future.

If your child is interested in joining the Explorers Section at 1st Coseley Scouts, you get in touch with us via our contact page here. Where it tells you which section you’re enquiring about, please select ‘EXPLORERS’.
